Mr.sambudi with his Keris,named Kyai Jangkung, you can see the gold spot near the Keris stem, this keris is from Kasunanan Solo, old Keris.

Early from without any of intention, exactly now become the hobby. Rudy J Pesiq , narrated in a daily newspaper column of Kedaulatan Rakyat, July 7^th, 2009, was born in Singapore , that has an Indonesia blood owning 2 thousands of Keris made at 9 up to 14 century.He collects the Javanese Keris to preserve result of masterpiece of ancestor.It was told, when he was in birthday moment he was given by his friend the place of nginang (nginang ; small place made of metal to soften sirih leafs and munch it, usually for Javanese women old time ago ) he thought to collect it after he came home from foreign country and he found that many of the foreigners take a fancy to Keris.

Besides used as a weapon for it made of metal, Keris is also considered to have a supernatural power for there is a certain power dwell in it. Javanese people believes that every Keris has a certain power with its characterization. My grandfather used to have it , dozen of Keris laid inside the cupboard,One night my father and grandfather said that one of the Keris that hung up on the wall shook its body without any hands touched it.Some people admires to process of making, for one Keris need 2 up to 3 months even more of making. Man who made Keris called Mpu or Empu (Empu: the master or the blacksmith), in the past time Empu had a very important role, from the story we knew Mpu Gandring from Majapahit Kingdom that made a powerful Keris for Ken Arok that finally killed Tunggul Ametung the Regent with the Keris of Empu Gandring and took Tunggul Ametung’s wife Ken Dedes as his wife. In Bantul south of Yogyakarta City there is also an Empu from Empu Supa Clan, from Majapahit, many tourists visit and see the process of making and some of them ordered as a souvenir. Including Jakarta Government and ambassadors ordered some pieces of Keris from him. Keris was made of certain materials like ; iron, metal, nicles. These materials compared together into one shape and processed it with an ancient metallurgical style to have a perfect,smooth and great result.You know to make one Keris need 3 up 4 kilos metal.

After making process finished then continued to handling process so Keris can be hold in arm easily. The handle can be from special wood like sandalwood etc, can be from ivory or even gold equipped with precious stones or jades.

II. PERTUNJUKAN KESENIAN TARI BARONG & KERIS

Barong Dance depict the contention between “ badness” and “kindliness”, barong was a mythology creature depict “kindliness” and Rangda was a mighty represent “ badness”.

OPENING SONG

Barong and monkey were in a dense forest, and there came three masked man represent ruin and disobedience, they made damage and hubbub the calmness of the forest. They met monkey and finally in quarelling ( fought each other), indeed monkey cut one of their knose.

FIRT ACT

Two Dancer showed up and they were Rangda follower, were looking for Dewi Kunti that on the way to meet Patih ( patih : war general )

SECOND ACT

Dewi Kunti followers arrived. On of the Rangda follower turned into Satan, (kind of Rangda) dan put the bad spirit /eveil ghost into Dewi Kunti followers that caused them angry. Both of them met Dewi Kunti

THIRD ACT

And then Dewi Kunti and her son Sahadewa appeared and Dewi Kunti promised to Rangda to give Sahadewa as victim or sacrifice. Actually Dewi Kunti had no brave to sacrifice his son Sahadewa to Rangda, but Satan ( kind of Rangda put eveil spirit to her that caused Dewi Kunti get angry and had a will to sacrifice her son and commanded her patih to exile Sahadewa into the Jungle. The Patih did not miss from entrance and Satan took him to the Jungle and fastened in front of Rangda Palace

FOURTH ACT

Deity Siwa descent and gave eternity to Sahadewa without Rangda knowledge. And this eternity knew by Rangda and he came to slash and to kill Sahadewa but he could kill Sahadewa because of impenetrability bestowed by Deity Syiwa. Rangda surrendered to Sahadewa and beg for safety so by this he couls enter heaven. This request fulfilled by Sahadewa and Rangda get heaven.

FIFTH ACT

Kalika was a Rangda follower faced to Sahadewa, this rejection caused quarreling and Kalika turned to ‘Pig Forest” while on the fight between Sahadewa against forest pig Sahadewa got win and Kalika (The Forest Pig) turned into Bird but still can be defeated. And finally Kalika (the bird) turned into Rangda. Because Rangda so powerful with magic power Sahadewa perforced and turned into Barong, cause both of them were so strong and powerful so the fight between Barong and Rangda nobody won , so why the fight run eternally “goodness” against “badness” and then showed up next the barong followers with their Keris ( traditional weapon like dagger) that wanted to help barong followers in fight against Rangda. They were all could not paralyse the power of Rangda

According to the history Pura Bukit Sari had a correlation with Mengwi Empire. Pura Bukit Asri was built by Anak Agung Anglurah Made Karang Asem Sakti, foster child of King Mengwi Cokorda Sakti Blambangan , told he ( Anak Agung Anglurah Made Karang Asem Sakti) was conducting ascetism “Rare” ( ascetism ;manner like baby or kids). He received whisper or inspiration to make a pelinggih or Pura in the Sangeh Forest, since those time Pura Bukit Asri erected in the middle of nutmeg forest.

Based on the mythology believed by society of Sangeh, Sangeh name closely related to “Nutmeg Forest” in which Sangeh come from two word “Sang” means “Man” and “ngeh” means “see” so Sangeh means man who see. It was said Pala tree in journey from Mount Agung (East Bali) to one place in west bali was seen by someone at last those tree stoped in certain place until now called “Sangeh”
